Solution  

 

A set of fans that are cooling output relays K11-K14 and improving airflow in the upper section of the charger.

The kit is consisting of following:

3 Screws, Fan plate & 5 Rivets

 

This Knowledge article is consisting of 2 solutions based on the different scenarios:

  1. Charger with access through the rear doors
  2. Charger installed close to a wall without possibility of opening the rear side doors

1. Check if no vehicle is plugged into any of the charging points and that there is no risk of voltage back feed. 

2. Open the left side doors and lock them in place with the door latch.

3. Turn OFF the charger - switch RCBO1 to position OFF.

 

1. Charger with access through the rear doors

 

1. Open the rear side doors by unscrewing the 4 screws holding the doors in place

2. Install the fan plate on position (in the rear side section) as shown on picture below using the 3 screws from received package

3. Connect the RED wire (positive polarity) from FAN terminal position 5 to position XR5 on terminal block in charger

4. Connect the RED wire (positive polarity) from FAN terminal position 6 to position XR1 on terminal block in charger

. Connect the BLACK wire (negative polarity) from FAN terminal position 1 to position XR6 on terminal block in charger

9. Install the wires to plastic cable tray

10. Start a charging session to verify that the fans are spinning

11. Close the rear door and install back the 4 screws

12. Close the left side doors

13. Rework is now finished

 

2. Charger installed close to a wall without possibility of opening rear side doors

1. Pre-assemble the rivets on the fan plate as shown on the picture below

2. Remove a covering plate above the DC distribution by loosening 4 screws (2 screws on each side) and slightly push it inside to create a space for manipulation with the fan kit

3. Install fan plate on the position and tighten it with 5 screws from the kit using Torx T20

4. Install back the cover above DC distribution

5. Connect the RED wire (positive polarity) from FAN terminal position 5 to position XR5 on terminal block in charger

6. Connect the RED wire (positive polarity) from FAN terminal position 6 to position XR1 on terminal block in charger

7. Connect the BLACK wire (negative polarity) from FAN terminal position 1 to position XR6 on terminal block in charger

  • Please be aware that the connection may vary based on the configuration of the charger, for more accurate results do the continuity test in between terminal and K11 or K13 and terminal to find its exact position

8. Install the wires to plastic cable tray

9. Start a charging session to verify that the fans are spinning

10. Close the rear door and install back the 4 screws

11. Close the left side doors

12. Rework is now finished

 

 

 

---IMPORTANTE NOTE---

Fans must be spinning as soon as any of CCS guns are active.
